Grocery Store Blunder

Well today was an interesting day, I awoke around 9:00 am (I work at a middle school, So I am on break Yeah me, sorry Steven) and spent my day being lazy and watching TV. I decided to visit my mother and alleviate some of my boredom. Then the time came around when the boyfriend was off work and I had yet to go to the grocery store. Well stupid me I asked him to go the store with me. First big mistake, I usually lolly-gag around the store, looking for what I find tasty. I try to stay on budget, but I like to include things that will make me happy. I happen to live with two of the pickiest twenty-four year old boys on earth, so I like to buy things like tea, mushrooms, and some fresh veggies. Back to the point, Steven and I are at the store and he makes it the most stressful and unenjoyable experience ever. First he made it clear that he didn't want to be there, second he didn't know what he wanted to eat for dinner tonight, and third he has a problem with chicken thighs, I just know it. I went walking around with the cart while he guided me down the aisles which pisses me off a bit. I know where stuff is, and even if he was joking I still don't like it. Then I tried to go off on my own and get some fruit and veggies, that was a big deal because the veggie thing is still an issue. Then we happened to see a couple of friends at the store, usually a nice little conversation and then on to the task at hand. Not us though, we talked about how I don't like chicken thighs, I don't that's the end of it, but Steven has to make sure and tell them that I am too fru-fru for the chicken that is on sale. I have heard him talk about how he hates dark meat chicken more then a hundred times. So who is he to make fun of me? Well after the numerous trips back through one aisle, I buy the food and Steven proceeds to split up the amount of money spent and tells me what he will pay half of and what he will not. What many may find funny I found incredibly annoying so I told him I don't want any money and that would be the end of it. Thank the Lord it was. The only thing I have to do is go back and buy the rest of the food I had planned on. Oh well we ended up having sloppy joes tonight, not my favorite, but Steven likes to cook it so it gave me a break so I am happy for that. I hope to have more pictures in tommorrows posts, more recipes, and more all around food stuffs.

Tonight is the night!

Hello all of my fellow internet users, I have come here today to tell you about all of the delicious food I am going to be making and showing everyone out there. I want to keep this simple and fun. I am going to be telling you about me (Kayla), my lovely boyfriend Steven(who also has a twin brother,Chris) and all of the fun and delicious(most of the time anyways) food that we will be eating. I really love cooking, I have been watching food network since I was twelve years old and have been addicted since. It's like being on crack, but instead of all the nasty transient folk, and horrible side effects, all I have to worry about is gaining some "extra poundage". I also like to cook on a more healthy mind set. I like to use whole grain pasta, lean proteins, and as many vegetable as Steven can stomach(trust me they consist of green beans and corn on the cob). Alas there are times when I have to make really fattening, deep fried, artery clogging deliciousness that we call southern cooking. I live in San Antonio, Texas, it is an unsaid rule that you must love Mexican food while you occupy these surroundings. If I could and my metabolism could handle it, I would eat Mexican food morning, noon, and night. My favorite meal of the day is and has always been breakfast because you can eat as many carbs as you want and not feel guilty about it. The perfect breakfast would consist of, are you ready? I hope you don't think any less of me once you read how much I would eat, ok here it goes.
1.Potato, egg, and cheese breakfast taco
2. Country style hash browns(with ketchup on top)
3. Banana pancakes with blueberry syrup
4.Sausage links, bacon, and a ham steak(pork products who can deny you)
5. any combination of eggs, cheese and onions
6. Biscuits and sausage gravy
7. cold pizza
That was a mouthful, but I probably would not eat them all together in one sitting, but if I was gonna try I would give it my best. I love cooking for people, it really makes me feel good when someone truly enjoys one of my dishes so if you are ready for this, I am. Thank you good morning, noon and night.
